Thank you to everyone that joined the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA) and Momentum for Remember Together Day on May 16, in celebration of Alzheimer’s Awareness Month. Over 350 people joined us for a great event at the Flatiron Plaza in New York City, while 119 people participated in complimentary memory screenings, an important first step in detecting memory issues. The event was both educational and fun; participants used our outdoor photo booth to recreate major pop culture moments in history, such as the Moon landing and Woodstock. Thanks to everybody who took a walk down memory lane and showed their support for AFA by taking over 130 photos!
In addition to AFA’s memory screenings and photo booth, participants received brochures from our information booth, children played fun memory games, and passersby were given free Rubik’s Cubes. In case you missed this awesome event check our the highlights video on YouTube: #RememberTogether.
The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America provides optimal care and services to individuals confronting dementia, and to their caregivers and families-through member organizations dedicated to improving quality of life. If you or a loved one missed Remember Together Day but are interested in a free memory screening, AFA’s National Memory Screening Program is held year round. Plus, National Memory Screening Week kicks off November 1! Use AFA’s memory screening website to find a memory screening near you: nationalmemoryscreening.org.
