Momentum is a finalist for the 2021 Big Apple Awards in the Reputation and Brand Management Group category! The agency’s “Educators in Crisis: Supporting a Nation of Teachers in a Pandemic Landscape” campaign has been recognized for its work with education nonprofit Teaching Matters. The communications campaign reached nearly 125 million people through press coverage and over 120,000 educators on social media.
Momentum garnered coverage of the nonprofit’s pandemic responses in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Washington Post. CEO Lynette Guastaferro also appeared on CNN’s The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer. Through a strategy that prioritized ads on Facebook and Linkedin, Momentum drove users towards Teaching Matters’ professional development webinars. A top-performing post on Facebook was shared over 200 times, reaching over 20,000 people. Teaching Matters’ LinkedIn following grew by over 29,000 people, a growth of 204%. Overall, viewership for the webinars was up 859% from the previous year.
Momentum’s success elevating Teaching Matters’ national reputation helped propel funding from the Joseph H. Flom Foundation, the NYC COVID-19 Response & Impact Fund in the New York Community Trust, and the Wells Fargo Foundation.
