Momentum celebrated its 10th anniversary in October of 2022. Here’s a look back at key milestones from the agency’s first decade.
- October 2012: Momentum opens for business on East 23rd Street in Manhattan with three staff members and four clients
- September 2013: Wins first Nonprofit PR Award – Best Media Relations Campaign – for its work promoting the Siemens Foundation’s national science competition
- May 2015: Draws crowd of 11,000 people to Remember Together Day in New York’s Flatiron Plaza for Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, raising awareness for early detection
- July 2015: Named agency of record to 140-year-old Ethical Culture Society of New York, a founder of the U.S. social justice movement
- October 2016: Launches world’s first orchestral film competition for Philharmonia Orchestra of NY, generating 100+ entries from filmmakers in 30 countries
- January 2018: Inaugurates Momentum Meets, a monthly Q&A series with special guests from the media, nonprofit and communications sectors
- February 2019: Launches award-winning Come As You Are campaign for National Eating Disorders Association
- March 2019: Manages press for Secretaries of State John Kerry and Condoleezza Rice in public forum for Common Ground Committee
- May 2019: Launches year-long event series celebrating Woodstock 50th anniversary on grounds of original 1969 festival for Bethel Woods Center for the Arts
- October 2020: Earns Grand Prize for Nonprofit PR Agency Team of the Year at Nonprofit PR Awards
- October 2021: Honored by Public Relations Society of America New York as “Best of the Best” at Big Apple Awards for work with longtime client Teaching Matters
- October 2022: Celebrates 10th anniversary as a team of 16 professionals serving 16 nonprofit clients
