Momentum’s third collaboration with the Philharmonia Orchestra of New York (PONY) culminated this week in rapturous performances of Verdi’s La Traviata in a new production at Lincoln Center. Maestro Atsushi Yamada conducted a glorious performance by orchestra and singers starring soprano Karen Chia-ling Ho as Violetta.
The production incorporated holographic imagery on a mega screen and a chorus comprised of Japanese students affected by the East Japan disaster, invited through Project Hand in Hand.
Team Momentum managed marketing and publicity for the production. Momentum previously promoted PONY’s productions of Mahler’s Resurrection Symphony, Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherezade. The agency conceived and executed the world’s first film competition sponsored by an orchestra for PONY’s 2017 season.
